"Freedom in Christ let's us choose God's best for our lives, to have the power to finally do what God purposed us to do: Love God, Love People, Serve the World. But why does this freedom make us so uncomfortable? One reason may be spiritual freedom requires often embracing unseen benefits and truths that the Bible calls “the foolishness” of the cross, where human wisdom relies on what can be seen, proven, and logically believable. Relying on God’s wisdom means accepting answers that may not align with cultural trends, doesn’t meet societal expectations, or runs against conventional logic. And that can get us out of our human comfort zones. Can we trust Jesus and his narrow way? That was the issue facing the early church in Colossae. The Apostle Paul reminded them (and us today) to not abandon the true freedom we have in Jesus that:1. Frees us from the control of man's wisdom, 2. Frees us from the control of man's rules, and 3. Frees us from the control of man's mortality. ""For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God."" (Col.3:3)
