The people of CLC are generous with their time, talents, and resources, responding to God’s generosity toward them. The early Church was remarkable in its diversity—three thousand people were added in a single day: men and women from every ethnicity, all equally valued and fully included because they followed Jesus. They held everything in common.

What did that mean in practice? Shared possessions. Shared space and time (or at least proximity). A shared purpose—a common dream and direction—shaped by the power of God’s Spirit.

Our unity is not rooted in sameness, but in a shared commitment to follow Jesus. So what does unity in the midst of diversity look like? It looks like truth-telling, acceptance, and belonging based solely on Jesus, and a lived-out covenant relationship within the CLC family.
