The book of Colossians is written to a group of new followers of Christ. Along with the joy and excitement of fresh faith in Jesus, the Colossians experienced uncomfortable growth and transition. The apostle Paul paints a picture of new life in Christ. Paul fills out Jesus’ calling in Matthew 7:13 to “enter through the narrow gate” and calls the church to live intentionally, joyfully, and in freedom empowered by God's Spirit, following the risen and glorified Christ.
