Dear CLC Family -
As some states and counties have been easing up restrictions and allowing for more 'reopening' of eateries and shops, some of you may be wondering, what is CLC going to do? I suspect that when CLC decides to reopen, it will be too soon for some, and not soon enough for others. Our church is choosing a conservative approach that follows the lead of our county health officials.
Recently, the State of CA issued a 13 page guideline for churches and houses of worship to review.
There are many items to take into consideration before CLC reopens its doors for in-person services. Perhaps most important is the ethical consideration of what might be the impact of reopening church prematurely given our belief in the sanctity of all human life. Consequently, we believe the best course of action is to continue to host ONLINE WORSHIP Services throughout the summer months of June and July.
As the Summer months approach and as more information is learned, we will disclose future plans beyond July at an appropriate time.
We have created a church survey to assess the needs of our congregation and to help the Staff plan ahead. We need your input and your feedback! Please take a moment to complete the survey. If you have questions or suggestions, please reach out to Lynn Yagisawa.
CLC is more than a church building. We have always been “open” even while our physical church building remains closed for large gatherings. CLC remains open because so many of you, our volunteers, along with staff and pastors, continue to serve! CLC'ers are great at finding ways to love our neighbors and serving those who might not be in a position to help themselves. I'm encouraged that our church continues to love God, love people, and serve the world during a challenging time.
Blessings to you,
Pastor Andrew Huang and the CLC Staff Team
“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15:5,6 NIV
Since our first online worship service on March 15, God has been showing up everywhere! Here are just a few God-sightings (among many) to share:
